Where to fly private this autumn and winter, 2026/27
The season's best dates, from Paris Photo in November to snow polo on the frozen lake at St. Moritz in January, with the airports, flight times from London and what to book early.
Paris Photo, Grand Palais
The world's leading fair for photography returns to the Grand Palais for its 29th edition. Le Bourget is around 25 minutes from the Champs-Élysées, so a morning departure from London has you at the preview by lunchtime and home the same night.
Christmas in London
December is London at its most festive: Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, the windows on Bond Street and New Bond Street, and the season's dinners. For families flying in from the Gulf or Europe, Farnborough and Biggin Hill avoid Heathrow entirely, and a car meets the aircraft for the drive into Mayfair or Knightsbridge.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Yas Marina
The Formula 1 season finale under the lights at Yas Marina. Al Bateen Executive Airport is dedicated to private aviation and sits close to the city; Abu Dhabi International is nearer Yas Island. Parking at both is allocated early for race weekend, so this is one to book now.
Courchevel and Méribel, the Three Valleys
The largest linked ski area in the world. Jets land at Chambéry, the closest airport to the Three Valleys, or Geneva, with a car or helicopter for the final leg. Courchevel's own altiport is reserved for specialist small aircraft and helicopters, which we can arrange for the last few minutes into the resort.
Chamonix Mont-Blanc
Chamonix is about an hour by road from Geneva, which makes it the easiest of the great Alpine resorts to reach for a long weekend. Grands Montets and La Flégère are scheduled to open first, from 28 November, snow permitting.
Innsbruck and the Tyrol
Innsbruck puts you within an hour or so of St. Anton, Kitzbühel and Ischgl. The approach through the Inn valley calls for specially trained crews, so the choice of operator matters here; we arrange it with operators approved for the airport.
Snow Polo World Cup, St. Moritz
High-goal polo on the frozen lake at St. Moritz, one of the great dates of the winter season. Engadin Airport at Samedan, among the highest airports in Europe, is minutes from the lake but restricted to suitable aircraft and crews; otherwise fly to Zurich and continue by helicopter or car.
Dates are as published by the organisers and resorts at the time of writing; ski openings depend on snow.
